What are the types of drywall we install?
You might be already familiar with the terms gypsum board, plasterboard, and Sheetrock, which all come with a common standard size of 4’ x 8’ with a ¼” (6.35mm) thickness. At BR Construction, we install all types of drywall sheet sizes depending on the wall areas and tailored to your specific needs whether it is a small home or a large commercial warehouse. These include 4’ x 10’ with 3/8” (9.52mm) thickness, 4’ x 12’ with a 1/2” (12.7mm) thickness and 4’ x 14’ with a 5/8” (15.9mm) thickness for walls of all shapes and heights. The thickness of drywall that your project needs will depend on the fire rating that it must meet. 1/2” drywall is sufficient for a 30 minute rating but a 1 hour fire rating will require 5/8” boards. From standard to specialty types, we cover all kinds of drywall boards. We install moisture-resistant drywall such as Greenboard or DensShield, and we also install fire-resistant drywall installations including Type X which is commonly used in multi-unit residential applications.
What drywall services do we offer?
- Drywall Installation Also termed as sheetrock, or gypsum boards. These common white 1/2” or 5/8” thick boards and used generally for your home walls, ceilings, and garage. Installing drywall in your showers and other wet areas in your home that have high moisture require water resistant drywall known as greenboard to prevent mold build-up. For certain fire rated homes that are multi-unit or too close to a neighboring property, a type of drywall that is fire-rated named Type-X is installed along those surfaces and sometimes ceilings.
